Coming soon: Oracle 26ai to Linux x86-64

 

 
Hello everyone,

     I am currently studying English more diligently and have decided to write my first post in English. I apologize if the text contains errors or it isn't well written.

     In this article I will only comment that Oracle will finally release an on-premise version of its latest database software for download, compatible with non-Oracle hardware. It is no longer Oracle 23ai, but the Oracle 26ai, which will replace the 23ai, as announced in October during Oracle AI World In Las Vegas.

     

     The Oracle Database 26ai for Linux x86-64 will probably be released in the second half of January 2026 and is the target of a major Oracle marketing strategy, with many new AI features. The core database architecture will be the same as 23ai, as reflected in the version numbering: 23.26 (see the image below). 

     Like the 23ai, it will be a Long Term Support release, which Premier Support ending on December 31, 2031.

Note: If you are on Oracle 19c or 21c, you can upgrade directly to 26ai, without need to upgrade to 23ai first. The AutoUpgrade utility is the only-supported way to upgrade to Oracle AI Database 26ai. For more information, see the links in the references.
